Based in Senior Developer Middlesex/London Up to £60k with a salary up to £60,000

My Client is looking for a Senior Developer to join their Digital Development team to help lead the development of their ambitious solutions and technology landscape. With your expertise you will bring modern methods and automated disciplines as part of the DevOps approach to IT & Solution Delivery.

As the Senior Developer you will be a highly technical individual needing a strong understanding of web concepts and protocols, requiring hands-on experience of a broad range of web technologies and tools working on multiple platforms. You will require the capability to communicate effectively with cross discipline teams including infrastructure and architects to deliver the best possible development solutions.

A strong development background in multiple technology spheres including C# ASP.Net, MVC, O365, Angular, SharePoint Online, Linux, Open Source and Mobile Development is very advantageous.

Key responsibilities

* Reports to Development Lead

* Develop and implement highly scalable applications which can adapt to changing requirements

* Translate business requirements and user needs into measurable improvement through technology

* Engage proactively with stakeholders and present technical issues in a clear and approachable format.

* Develop existing O365 capabilities to fully utilise enterprise licence functionality

* Assist in the integration of DevOps into the business through collaborative working with both development and operations teams

* Lead the development of applications alongside the lead integration developer to ensure applications fully integrate with our complex legacy applications and data

* Translate business requirements into usable applications using modern tools and techniques to improve experiences

* Develop cutting edge solutions providing business benefits across multiple technologies including C# ASP.Net, MVC, SQL, Angular O365, SharePoint Online, SOA, APIs, Oracle, Xamarin

* Work with Infrastructure and DevOps engineers to provision fit for purpose solutions for development and deployment

* Solve problems through smart technology solutions, identify quick wins, delivery proof of concepts, prove value and deliver quickly to a high quality

* Bring in best practice and assist in the implementation of agile working practices

* Work with other teams across infrastructure and architecture to ensure solutions are best in class, are realistic and delivered in an optimised and agile way.

* Document development standards guide

* Create and manage continuous development and deployment approaches across software including PowerShell Scripting and tools i.e. AWS Code Pipeline, Code Deploy, Jenkins

* Keep your knowledge up to date in a fast moving and evolving IT and Digital function

* Develop proof of concept solutions to demonstrate improvement and optimisation

* Develop well documented, reusable code which meets standards, is secure and reliable and promotes continuous development, continuous integration and continuous deployment

* Analyse and troubleshoot live issues when required

* Should be strong in following .NET standards and practices recognised by Microsoft

* Mobile application development

* Building integration functionality alongside integration developers with common enterprise solutions such as O365, Sitecore, Salesforce, SOA

Key skills and qualifications

* Strong collaboration and team working skills

* A BSc Degree in Computer Science or a related field - 2:1 and above

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Can do attitude and desire to deliver quality solutions

* 5+ years Core Development using ASP.NET MVC, WebApi in C# with SQL

* Experience with cloud development environments i.e. AWS, Azure.

* Experience in Agile development environment

* Knowledge of User Experience (UX) design principles

* UI Development using JavaScript, JQuery, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap

* Beneficial to have Single Page Principles using KnockoutJS or AngularJS

* Preferable knowledge of message-oriented-Middleware technologies such as OSB

* Demonstrable experience of object-oriented design patterns and code refactoring and awareness of SOLID principles

* Experience of automated Testing using a variety of MS Test, NUnit, CodedUI would be useful

* Beneficial to have demonstrable techniques and approaches to delivering mobile solutions for multiple devices

* Source control and branching and merging strategies using VSTS, SourceSafe, SVN or GIT

* Good English communications skills in both written and verbal skills to communicate at all levels with Internal and External Client/Stakeholders of the business.

* Preferable knowledge of release and automation tools such as VSTS, Jenkins, AWS Code Pipeline, AWS Code Deploy
