Spring Technology is currently looking for a Java Developer. This is an exciting Brand New, Permanent opportunity working for an ever expanding reputable company based in Birmingham.

Role Background:

In this role you will join a growing team of developers implementing our platform for optimization applications. You will need to be a strong Java programmer interested in the challenges of creating a highly scalable platform that works equally well on premise and as SaaS on the company Cloud. You will need to be a strong JavaScript programmer interested in pushing the language to its limits in the creation of highly customizable user interfaces for demanding, data rich applications"

Your work will have significant visibility and be crucial to achieving the roadmap and revenue targets for the product. Service teams within the company will deliver multi-million dollar projects based on your work and you will be the go-to expert when they need advice. You will join a very successful and highly regarded group of developers based in Birmingham, and work with Services teams and partners globally. This role, as a member of one of 3 Scrum teams, will suit a developer with strong experience in Java and JavaScript looking to enhance their skills in one or both technologies whilst authoring innovative software within an Agile environment.

Responsibilities:

Make a significant contribution to the development of the Optimization Modeller product

? - Author, document and maintain the associated code base

? - Author and maintain unit tests for related functionality

? - Contribute to product documentation and user examples

? - Contribute to 2nd/3rd level support for Clients and Client-facing internal teams

? - Collaborate with Quality Assurance engineers to deliver a quality product

? - Collaborate with team members to build and package the product for release

Skills and Experience:

BSc in Computer Science/Software Engineering or similar/related discipline or equivalent experience

? - Considerable experience in a Java software development role enhancing a multi-user web-based commercial software product

? - Considerable experience in the development of web interfaces, especially JavaScript/AJAX frameworks and Web Services/REST/XML/JSON for a commercial software product

? - Solid knowledge of the software engineering discipline, processes and methodologies

? - Proven experience of understanding and delivering to complex product requirements and relating development goals to client needs

? - Experience of Agile development methodologies would be an advantage

? - Experience of Spring, Hazelcast, NoSQL, Knockout and Bootstrap development would be an advantage
