Senior Contract Manager (Procurement / Outsourcing transition) - Nottingham (City Centre) - 6 months

Senior Contract Manager (Procurement / Outsourcing transition) required to join a client in the utilities industry. This role is based in the Nottingham City Centre on a 6 month contract.

The role: You will be responsible for managing the process of setting up the appropriate contractual framework for managing performance & relationships with a new outsource provider, supporting the transition project and ensuring that change management to commercial terms and outcomes.

Responsibilities

* Leading the outsourcing transition for Back Office and Debt (early collections) from Contractual and Commercial Management perspective.

* This includes the development of the performance management framework, supporting a successful baselining process, embedding risk and reward mechanisms, establishing good, functioning working relationships with suppliers, ensuring internal RACI around vendor management & engagement with suppliers is clear.

* Ensuring that developments in the agreement required during transition & set up are treated appropriately from a contractual & commercial perspective, with clear impact assessment & faultless governance to ensure that impacts of the commercial agreement are clear and agreed by both parties.

* Engage directly with senior internal and external stakeholders (up to Director-level) and operational teams across Energy Solutions to ensure excellent performance delivery & successful transition to new outsourced partners.

* Ensuring adherence to the client's Contractor Safety and Engagement policy, including carbon reduction programmes and delivery against our safety, responsible, working together, quality, cost and delivery measures.

* Lead the BAU processes involved in contract managing the Back office & field debt outsource partners.

* This includes the supporting the monthly/quarterly performance reviews with third parties and key internal stakeholders to ensure delivery of services, the management of change requests & contract variations, supporting the business in obtaining the level of service required at the best value for the client.

* Work closely with third parties to identify and drive the successful delivery of service improvements and initiatives to improve contracted services or provide cost savings.

* Identification and management of any business risks associated with the contracted service, up to and including the client's Board-level.

* Ensuring that commercial contracts remain compliant with the client's corporate governance model, meeting all contractual, commercial, legal and regulatory requirements and obligations and actual contract spend is within its authorised budget and any potential under/overspend is managed within that governance.

* Upper limit may be insufficient to obtain experience required for this role.

Key skills

Essential

* Proven ability to build effective relationships, influence and collaborate with stakeholders, peers and senior management across the business.

* Experience of setting up commercial relationships & managing contractual variations/change requests.

* Experience of vendor management with an offshore serviced provider / Procurement experience.

* Strong commercial and analytical acumen.

* Proven ability to make decisions and deliver against tight deadlines amidst conflicting priorities.

* Pro-active and creative approach to problem solving.

* Full driving licence and willingness to travel to other client sites, third party offices and industry forums on a national basis.

* The ability to challenge established thinking in order to make positive changes to business processes.

* Understand any regulations, policies and processes which relate to the job role and provide fair outcomes when giving service to our customers.

Desirable

* Knowledge of the electricity and gas markets, including the regulatory environment.

* Experience of working with outsourced call centre providers

* Pro-active and creative approach to problem solving.

* Working knowledge of preparing and maintaining commercial documents, as well as contract law.
