Web Developer - Junior - PHP / Laravel

This company provides online publishing support services and has recently developed a business continuity and crisis communication tool. The PHP Developer will be part of a small team (3 developers, 1 product manager) which is primarily working on their Sentinel (crisis communication) product. You will work closely with the product manager and development team using Scrum and Agile methodologies to craft high-impact web and mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Writing automated tests.

- Develop new features and functions for existing products

- Maintain coding standards and practises

- Research and implement new technologies, tools and methods.

- Code reviews.

Key skills

- PHP - preferably the Laravel framework

- JavaScript and JQuery knowledge

- HTML and CSS

- Ajax/JSON

- Ability to understand the core of a problem and research possible solutions using relevant online resources.

Nice to have

- OOP / MVC

- Git / Github / Gitflow- Composer / NPM / Webpack

- Server Admin

- Laravel forge server deployment and management

- Laravel Dusk Testing- Domain Setup / DNS

- Phpmyadmin / Sequel Pro- Mysql / Sql / Eloquent

- PHP Unit Testing- Adobe Creative Cloud

- AWS knowledge

- Knowledge of Bootstrap, Framework 7 or other front-end frameworks

- Write clean maintainable code and follow style guidelines.

- Knowledge of Twilio / Mailgun- Able to consume 3rd party API's

The platform is a mature system used by major corporations and organisation all over the world. The system has deployed more that 1,000 apps for Android, iOS and Windows and operations from Clitheroe Lancs, and Holborn and Kentish Town in London.

Salary Dependant on experience circa £20K - £26K.

Location: Clitheroe, Lancashire, UK. Will consider remote working for the right candidate.
