DevOps Engineers- Windows/Linux/Cloud/Datacenter - Ansible/Puppet - AWS/Azure

Several opportunities have arisen, working at various levels, within a major organisation in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Role:

- Working on various infrastructures, (windows / Linux ) ( Cloud / Data Centre ) to deliver high availability, rapid solutions using predominately open source software. Delivering automated solutions which deliver value to the customer.

- Advising the customers on the latest technologies and methodologies, designing and implementing innovative approaches to Automations.

- Ensuring software standards are maintained, being able to train and mentor junior staff. Defining processes and procedures to ensure re-use and standards.

- Understanding security policies and implementing solutions, which are high availability and scalable

Skills:

- Configuration Management e.g. Ansible, puppet, Chef

- AWS, Azure, bare-metal and Virtual hosting

- Integrating various products using APIs etc to enable a joined up automated approach

- Monitoring systems e.g. ELK, Nagios, New Relic, DataDog, Splunk etc.

- Modern program languages understanding at least one of: Bash Script, Python, Ruby, Perl, C, C++, Java, PowerShell

- Digital delivery processes and methodologies

- Able to work with an Agile Team, being able to be self-driven and looking for continuous improvement to both the process and the systems.

- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

- Attention to detail with a pragmatic and enthusiastic attitude to work.

Desirable Skills:

- Build and Provisioning Tools e.g. Jenkins, Terraform, Packer, Team City

- Experience of Test Drive n and Behaviour Driven development, and being able to implement automated test solutions

- Docker container hosting (Kubernetes, RedShift etc.)
