Data Manager - 45-55k - Andover - FTSE100 Global Organisation

Managing a team of 10 analysts, responsible for the data transformation pipeline from requirements capture across the business through the deployment of each application.

Main Tasks

* Establish and maintain relationships with other functional areas within DSG and Babcock Land to develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and systems that meet the information management objectives for Babcock and the Authority

* Deliver recommendations and analysis for the use of reporting tools and practices

* Identify and propose ways and methods for improving the use and exploitation of information and data

* Produce timely and accurate Management Information reports as requested.

* Standardisation of delivery across all data services and products.

* Streamline processes, improving the speed, robustness and efficiency of data delivery.

* Enhance data quality, completeness, appropriateness and accuracy of data to enable the right decision, at the right time.

* Reduce manual data validation effort and risk of error;

* Rationalisation of data sources and suppliers.

* Practical experience of managing a Data team.

* Proven experience of leading people in a fast changing high performing environment

* Experience of working with external data and software suppliers.

Experience required

* Experience of developing and managing data governance process and documentation

* Degree and or Post Graduate degree in a mathematical or computing related discipline

* Minimum 5 + years' experience as a Data Manager, Programme Analyst, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the key responsibilities of the job

* Demonstrated ability to provide mentoring, training, and work instruction to new hires and less-experienced colleagues in the department

* Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information during interactions with staff at all levels

* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Evidence of delivering projects to successful completion

* Experience of managing data teams

* Knowledge of the information lifecycle

* Knowledge of security standards and all relevant legislation that affects security within the defined scope of authority
