IT Support Technician
IT Support / Infrastructure / Microsoft / 1st Line / 2nd Line / Permanent / Wolverhampton / West Midlands
Our client has been well established for over 100 years and is looking for a local and experienced IT Support Technician to join their closely-knit IT Infrastructure & Support Team based in Wolverhampton.
Key responsibilities
*Providing high quality IT support to end-users via the telephone, IT support helpdesk and/or visiting remote sites.
*Ensuring that issues are resolved promptly by effective prioritisation within internal and external SLAs and giving timely and accurate updates throughout the process.
*Providing additional support to wider IT staff, the IT Infrastructure & Support Manager and Project support when required.
*Assisting the development of the support function and helpdesk, ensuring that it is maintained and kept up to date i.e. updating helpdesk tickets and keeping 'active' ticket volumes within acceptable backlog levels.
*Providing back up for systems and supporting the office general hardware and software.
Experience required in:
*Quickly adapting to changing circumstances using excellent organisational and communication skills (written and verbal), and displaying composure and diplomacy to build rapport with customers.
*Support / helpdesks with the ability to deliver and coordinate to tight deadlines in a sometimes pressurised environment.
*Experience with TCP IP / VPN / VLANs.
*Technical IT skills including experience of Microsoft Windows and Office 365, SharePoint, Windows 7/10.
*Supporting a range of systems and a variety end user's requirement.
*Experience of supporting Windows server 2012, Hyper-V, Cisco Meraki and Mimecast would also be beneficial but is not essential.
This is a great opportunity to join an established organisation during an exciting period of development. The salary on offer for this position is £18,000-£23,000 depending on experience plus an excellent benefits package including a company matched pension 3-7%.
