Candidate Specification

You'll have a history of delivering projects successfully, preferably in the media/telecommunications industry.

Our client is a fast moving and dynamic organisation, so you'll have a 'can do' attitude, balanced by the delivery realism you've gained from your experience. You'll lead by example, and will be prepared to go the extra mile when needed. You'll have the confidence to challenge, but you'll do this in an emotionally intelligent way.

Quality and attention to detail is important to you, but you balance this with an appropriate level of pragmatism.

You'll have an enquiring mind and the drive to bring order and structure to the projects you're responsible for. However, you'll also be comfortable with uncertainty, recognising this is often the natural state during the early stages of projects.

As this is a 'change delivery' role you'll have the ability to establish productive working relationships with your stakeholders and delivery teams (appreciating how important people and relationships are to the success of your projects), quickly winning their trust and respect in order to bring your influence to bear.

You will also understand what it takes to prepare an organisation for change and to adopt new ways of working.

* Strong academic background, educated to degree level, or equivalent

* Minimum 5-10 years' project/programme management experience (depending on level)

* Project management methods and techniques (e.g. stakeholder management, planning and dependency management, issue and risk management, budget and resource management etc)

* Change management and business/operational readiness

* Microsoft Office suite of tools

* Good written and verbal communications

* 'Can-do' positive attitude

* Proactive; a 'self-starter'

* Passionate about delivery

* Good with people; emotionally intelligent

* Tenacious; a 'completer-finisher'

* Sharp mind; quick to learn, with an inquisitive nature and the need to understand how things work

* Comfortable with uncertainty, but with the drive to bring order and structure to projects

* A team leader who takes responsibility

* Attention to detail and quality; but pragmatic when required

* Strong problem solving ability

* Resilient and calm under pressure

* Confident dealing with senior stakeholders; comfortable when challenged

* Ability to keep an open mind and encourage others to do so

* Strong facilitator; assisting stakeholders to resolve conflicts and reach compromises

* Committed and willing to go the extra mile
