Firmware Engineer needed for an innovative and leading business in Plymouth. You will sit within the Firmware Design Team and help develop and test embedded software, for a next generation of products.

How your day will look;

* Design and develop embedded software for use in a language suitable for the application. This will primarily be 'C' or assembler.

* Complete verification and validation process on developed embedded software and systems.

* Constantly review procedures and processes with Manager's, to improve the quality of products at the design & development stage.

* Write product documentation in accordance with customer and requirements.

* Liaise with the Production Engineering Department to provide technical assistance in the development of test solutions.

* Help identify to the project team during the planning stages and throughout a project, factors effecting its successful completion.

* Provide technical support to other Departments when required.

* To research new technologies and processes/tools, providing feedback on how they could be used in the development of or in products, or add / enhance features cost effectively.

The following skills are required. However, the company will not expect you to have outstanding experience within each category, and will help to provide daily support in areas of;

* C Programming.

* Assembler.

* Microchip PIC Processors (ARM, STM, NXP, Texas, 16 BIT, 32 BIT - ALL WELCOME).

On rare occasion, you will be asked to travel to international sites (we expect this to be less than 5% of your job role).

A Degree or HND in Electronic Engineering will be highly desirable, and certainly make you stand out against the crowd.
