Job Role: IT Infrastructure Project Manager

Location: Northampton

Contract Length: 3 months + extensions

Start Date: ASAP

Day Rate: £370

Job description

* Exercise overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the Programme/project/Releases to plan, budget and agreed quality and governance standards.

* Own and drive the Project planning framework, ensuring that plans are developed and tracked to appropriate standards are integrated effectively across all work streams, are unambiguous and achievable, and dependencies are clearly understood and managed.

* Own and drive the effective governance of the Project / release, via the Project Management Office, ensuring that Bank technical, risk and other standards and compliance requirements are met and that the Project governance framework is comprehensively defined and firmly embedded across all areas of the Project.

* Manage the lead supplier in line with agreed contractual obligations, milestones and quality standards.

* Provide day to day direction to the project / release team and manage a budget of up to 5 million (pre-cap).

* Engage key areas across the business and drive work streams to successful delivery.

* Control the Project / release scope, ensuring that rigorous change control is exercised.

* Ensure the Project resource plan is maintained and met and that appropriately skilled and experienced individuals are appointed in line with delivery plans.

Essential Skills

* Project Management experience within an Agile and Waterfall environment

* Experience on Mainframe/Cloud/Infrastructure/Application Development projects

* Must be able to demonstrate good stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills, with strong personal credibility

* Demonstrable record of managing Project budgets effectively, and delivering within budgetary constraints

* Good knowledge and experience of working within operational areas.

* Ex-Barclaycard will be preferable

Desirable Skills

* Financial services industry experience

* Formal external qualification/accreditation to Prince II or PMI methodologies, or at least experience of Prince II/PMI in a project environment.
