So I am back, once again gracing the online job boards with another hybrid role guaranteed to both intrigue and confuse prospective candidates... who said recruitment wasn't just one big rollercoaster?

To cut to the chase, I am working in partnership with a leading global enterprise in Knutsford who are looking to recruit an experienced Scrum Master.

You might be thinking 'that sounds pretty straightforward'... well it is, to an extent. But the main difference is that this role requires somebody with a hybrid skillset.

That skillset being a mix of software engineering and delivery experience.

Long story short, you should ideally be a Technical Lead/Development Lead acting in a dual Scrum Master role. You should still be working closely with the technology, liaising with technical stakeholders (Engineers, Architects, QA) on a daily basis and be able to jump in and code on the odd occasions that is required (don't worry, it won't be a daily thing!).

What I am not looking for is somebody from a core Project/Programme Management background who is currently leading Agile delivery. Delivery experience is important but not a pre-requisite and the technical aspect is crucial to be considered suitable for this role.

In terms of the specific role, reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be heavily involved in the design and development of a number of enterprise solutions on a Java-based platform.

Your core focus will be to establish an Agile delivery model for the team, facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, show & tells, retrospectives, and other ceremonies. You will be expected to work closely with the development team at all stages of the SDLC, advising on technical direction and helping them overcome obstacles to ensure their solution delivery is at maximum velocity.

Moreover, you will help continue their journey through DevOps/CI, as well as mentoring and coaching the teams as and when required.

As alluded to earlier, the role will be highly stakeholder-facing, working with both your own team as well as the wider business to ensure the technical change is delivered within the frameworks of the organisation. Essentially, you will be expected to be an 'Agile evangelist', guiding the team through the Agile process and ensuring any issues are dealth with quickly and efficiently.

So if this is something that you'd like to formally follow up, then give me a call on either 0191 338 7540 or 07943721308. Alternatively, send me a LinkedIn connection request (search for Liam Haghighat) or send me an email to [email protected].
