Unix / AIX - Application Support Analyst - 3rd line - Bath - £25k - £30k pa

Our client who is a major international engineering company are looking for an Application Support Analyst to join their expanding team.

Responsibilities: Collaborate with IT leads and IT service representatives to establish an IT-wide approach to IT service transition. - Establish transition processes and transition readiness criteria, and design the necessary internal controls to ensure adherence to the processes. - Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure & Integration team to identify integration dependencies and implications, and to plan for the necessary actions. - Collaborate with Release Managers to ensure that service transition criteria are met by internal and external teams. - Collaborate with Change Managers to determine the readiness level of the impacted groups to the upcoming changes associated with service transitions and to ensure that change associated with service transitions is managed effectively. - Ensure transition governance in adherence to project and programme management methods established by the PMO, and to risk management methods established by the Information Security function. - Collaborate with IT service owners and IT Competency Leads representation to establish service monitoring for newly transitioned services. - Ensure service readiness documents (release and deployment plan, release schedule, operational service documentation, readiness risk plans, etc.) are created and accepted by stakeholders. - Authorise and conduct service handover and lead the go-live authorisation discussions with the other work streams. - Maintain service(s) in all environments in line with business requirements and Change management process. - Provide a high Level of support to global users in line with agreed SLA's - Management of user security across all applicable services - Ownership for server environments where relevant in line with SLA's working in coordination with the infrastructure function - Keeping up to date Systems documentation for service(s). This includes Run books, operational documentation, user Guides and training documentation as required. - Systematic reviews of service(s) as and when required. - Monthly synchronisation of service(s) if relevant in line with SLA's.

It is expected that you will have at least 2 years 3rd line Application Support experience within a dynamic environment with excellent skills and knowledge of Unix / AIX. In addition you will have a strong technical background with experience to 3rd line.

ITIL experience would be useful but this is not essential.
