An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Full Stack.Net developer with management experience to lead a small team of developers. The successful candidate will be instrumental in bringing a set of established applications in line with the latest technologies and methodologies. They will also be responsible for managing an ongoing list of new applications, as well as resources. Some travel to London will be required to attend meetings and some foreign travel may be required.
You will:
Manage the development team.
Manage full software development lifecycle.
Design, develop, and maintain both Windows and web applications.
Automate business processes and build self-service features.
Maintain and/or convert existing applications to current technologies.
Assist in solving technology related problems.
Research and adapt to emerging technologies.
Report to senior management.
The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) protects animal health, public health and the environment. We promote animal health and welfare by assuring the safety, quality and efficacy of veterinary medicines. As an executive agency of the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) we contribute to their objectives to protect public health and meet high standards of animal welfare. Our work also helps the Food Standards Agency to protect and improve the safety of food people eat.
Around 160 people, a mixture of scientific and administrative staff, work at our offices near Addlestone, Surrey which are 15 - 20 minute walk from local mainline stations.
