We’ve already transformed our organisation, putting the public and best practice at the heart of everything we do. The work continues as CQC is undergoing a significant digital transformation. The Digital directorate, headed by Pete Sinden, Chief Digital Officer, will be overseeing delivery of our information management and technology strategy, setting out to overhaul our systems over the next few years. We are looking to strengthen our Digital function to deliver on our business priorities. Our core methodology and delivery approach will shift from a waterfall to an agile method.

About the role

The Head of Data is a newly created and exciting role, forming part of our Digital transformation programme. Working jointly to our Chief Digital Officer and our Director of Intelligence you will be taking the lead on shaping the data required to increase our capabilities in being a more intelligence driven and effective regulator. Moving away from disparate data sources you will lead shifting the balance from driving understanding from what is available to clearly articulating what is needed to drive understanding. Working in partnership with others you will define a strategy for the art of the possible, exploring best practice methods, tools and processes that will enable CQC to deliver its intelligence-driven ambitions, and drive this through to delivery.

About you

With a successful record of implementing data strategies to transform an organisation’s operating model you will also have the ability to transform an organisation’s culture towards data. You will be a strategic thinker who can take a high-level view to determine the business priorities. Your understanding of available and emerging technical solutions will allow you to articulate the benefits and limitations of different approaches to support CQC’s ambitious intelligence-driven corporate priority.

This is a key and demanding senior role requiring someone with passion, enthusiasm and innovation to lead our data strategy. Excellent executive communication and relationship building skills are a must, along with the ability to deliver a clear and compelling vision of the benefits of applying data in a creative environment.
