A new breed of people communications business, with ambitious plans for growth, we’re a friendly, straight-talking bunch of communications experts who blend creative ideas with good old-fashioned client service. We’ve spent the past seven years building a bunch of great looking careers websites for big name brands, and winning awards for innovation delivering all kinds of web based solutions including the UK’s first recruitment Chatbot. We’ve done all that with a tight knit band of freelancers (who we call the flock), but now we’re looking to grow our in house team too.

You’ll be working on multiple clients, many of them household names and with plenty of variety and opportunities to try something new if it’s right for the client. Most of what we build is PHP based, running on a LAMP stack and so you’ll need plenty of experience with both. You’ll have built a few nice sites or apps yourself, as well as working on credible projects elsewhere.

You should be a self starter and team player, with a commercial head on your shoulders and an eye for quality and doing things "proper", Yorkshire style. You’ll be able to explain technical stuff to those who don’t understand the jargon, as well as take a brief from our massively capable (but less technical) team and turn it into something great. You’ll also have an appreciation of security, data protection, SEO and accessibility. You don’t need to be an expert in any of those, but knowing what you don’t know and being confident enough to ask or know where to research the answer is just as important to us.

You’ll be confident in PHP, MySQL, CSS, JS, responsive design and knowledge of the ExpressionEngine CMS is a big tick in the box, Wordpress and other CMS’s are a bonus, but we don’t use them as often. If you’re comfortable doing basic Debian Linux systems admin even better.

You’ll be working directly with our Technical Director, Creative Director, Research and Client Service teams in our relaxed, friendly office and encouraged to pitch in and get involved not just get your head down and bash out code.

We’re based in Leeds, in a cracking old mill about 15 minutes walk down the canal from the railway station, we’re pretty flexible on hours provided deadlines are met, but our usual day is 9-5.30pm with a lunch break, 25 days holiday plus bank hols on top, a shiny new Macbook and monitor for your desk, mobile phone, private health cover, auto enrolment pension, regular socials and an annual bonus of up to 10% of salary.
