The Role

The Shared Digital Service are seeking an innovative Developer to plan, design, create, test and maintain account solutions across Camden, Haringey and Islington Council. The post holder will contribute to key software development activities within a large agile portfolio, working closely with the development lead and peers to ensure best practice and quality is built into everyday use of development programmes.

Working within the Shared Digital Service, you will take a collaborative approach, engaging with other software developers, business analysts and software architects to gain an understanding of users’ requirements and optimise the delivery of the Development function across all three boroughs.

The post holder will proactively assess applications for process improvement, analyse and resolve technical problems, and participate in peer reviews, working as a team to enhance solution designs and related code.

Software development has the potential to reinvent the way we work and reimagine technological solutions from a user perspective and this role is essential to delivering this.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have previous experience as a Software Developer and be highly skilled at developing enterprise service oriented systems, contributing to design, implementation and mentoring less experienced engineers.

You will demonstrate your knowledge in following best practice of Scrum development approach including knowledge of TDD, automation and CI. You will adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget.

Experience of advanced coding techniques, integration and front-end technologies are key to the role. The ideal candidate will have experience of using enterprise Java and working with frameworks and APIs such as JSF, Liferay and RedHat Fuse.

You will thrive under pressure with the ability to think creatively, apply strong analytical skills, pay close attention to detail and bounce off ideas within a team environment.
