I work in transformation, responding to the changing nature of crime.

Our vision is for London to be the safest global city. Achieving this involves transforming every aspect of how we operate - this is the biggest transformation in the Met’s history, led by our world-class Transformation Directorate.

As the UK’s largest police service, we employ more than 40,000 people and account for 25% of the national policing budget. The scale, breadth and pace of our transformation is unparalleled, and we are looking for the best talent to help us deliver our ambitious vision. This is your chance to help shape the police service of the future - and to work with highly driven and committed professionals from across the breadth of policing services. With your help, we can make it happen.

You’ll join our programme delivery team within the Transformation Directorate, joining our team of programme and project managers who are at the heart of managing the change across a range of exciting, dynamic projects. Working with multi-skilled teams you’ll bring your flexible approach, problem-solving and negotiating skills together, using a structured PPM framework to ensure we achieve our goals.

As a Programme Manager, you’ll lead one of our complex transformation programmes. You’ll need experience of managing programmes or a number of complex projects, as well as financial and supplier management. You’ll have excellent stakeholder engagement skills, demonstrating an ability to engage with a range of stakeholders at every level of the organisation. Your proven technical skills will be the foundation upon which your programme is structured to deliver its benefits and capability. Your leadership skills will be tried and tested to lead complex matrix-managed teams.

With your help, we can transform the services we provide to the public; from tackling organised crime to protecting vulnerable people, we will be prepared to respond to every challenge more effectively and efficiently.

Working in our Transformation Directorate will be challenging and rewarding. We provide world-class training and development and a generous reward package, and you will have the satisfaction of knowing you have made an invaluable contribution to keeping London safe.

To find out more and to apply please visit our website by clicking the APPLY button. You’ll need to submit a short personal statement and a two-page CV.

Closing date for applications: 27 November 2017.

For applications submitted by 20 November 2017, telephone clarifications will be undertaken during w/c 4 December 2017, with face to face interviews during w/c 11 December 2017. For applications submitted after this date, telephone clarifications and face to face interviews will be undertaken in January 2018.

To tackle today’s complex policing challenges, we need a workforce made up from all of London’s communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.
