Joining a small team of testers with skills in web analytics, business intelligence and ETL testing, you’ll be a key member of our brand new Data & Analytics Centre of excellence. We’re driving forward all kinds of projects to achieve all kinds of challenges - from predicting customer behaviour, to scheduling driver deliveries, to optimising store space. You will use data from source systems to improve quality. You’ll format, remodel, aggregate, and more - all so it can be used by teams ranging from reporting to data science, to make fresh breakthroughs. Rigorous testing underpins everything we do, which is why you’ll enjoy such a rewarding role. Testing a wide range of solutions, you’ll work across a mix of traditional RDBMS, Big Data, digital and new open source platforms with a range of tools and technologies. We will look to you to capture system interfaces and business processes, produce business models and translate them into testing specifications, and produce test plans. Working closely with developers, modellers and other testers, you’ll play a part in defining, measuring and improving our testing practices. This area of our work is constantly evolving, and you'll help us to make changes that work. You will help us to explore innovations ranging from the use of real time feeds, to exploring the potential of the internet of things, to web analytics - and beyond. And you’ll do it all in a multi-platform environment which gives you exposure to everything from Teradata and BI tools through to Big Data (Hadoop) and brand new, modern data platforms.

So what are we looking for? You’re comfortable with the full BI project lifecycle, especially ETL processing. You’ll bring to the role knowledge of 3rd Normal Form and Dimensional models, as well as scoping and running SIT, V&P and UAT test cycles, and carrying out release planning. Ideally, you’ll have experience of agile scrums and test automation. We have roles focussing on web analytics, and on business intelligence and ETL testing, so we’ll expect you to suit one of those specialist areas. Whatever your focus, we’ll also expect you to demonstrate plenty of initiative and curiosity, and the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
