As the leading UK member of a major international group this organisation has a significant investment in new product development which has been enhanced by the addition of a dedicated digital connected systems team that is specifically charged with the responsibility of developing the next generation of intelligent products that communicate digitally and can be monitored, controlled, maintained and upgraded through advanced communications protocols and cloud based services.

This position carries direct responsibility for the development and testing of these advanced system concepts and controls, and their incorporation into the new product ranges under parallel development. Working within a highly committed team this role will be expected to contribute a breadth of capability in the digital arena including hands-on testing and validation of the new end-to-end systems under development or planned in the future.

You will be qualified to degree level in a software or computing sciences discipline and will already have had working experience in a similar role within a development environment that routinely uses formal New Product Development and Continuous Improvement techniques.

Previous work will have included communications protocols, cloud hosted services, API’s and embedded software together with familiarity with relevant software packages.

Experience of specific interest to the client include smart meters, intelligent building systems, smart boilers, heating and lighting products, industrial, automotive and white goods connectivity.

You will be an intrinsic team player who enjoys contributing your specialisation within a group that may contain other engineering skills but which combine to produce innovative and leading product concepts and products.
