An exciting opportunity has arisen for a C# software developer to work on the development and delivery of the IT systems supporting the Research Excellence Framework (REF).

The REF is the national system for assessing the quality of research in UK universities and higher education colleges. It is undertaken periodically, with the next assessment due to take place in 2021. The outcomes of the REF exercise inform the selective allocation of c. £2bn a year funding for research. The outcomes also provide accountability for public investment in research, and establish reputational yardsticks for UK universities and HE colleges.

The software developer will work on the delivery of a range of inter-related IT systems for the REF, to collect data from over 150 universities, and to support the assessment processes for over 1000 expert panel members.

As REF software developer, you will be part of an agile team of developers, testers and user support staff delivering the best digital solutions for the REF. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the latest technical developments and will need to deliver high-quality code to meet the needs of the diverse range of users for the REF systems.

If you have the above skills and experience and would relish the opportunity to take on this exciting role then we would very much like to hear from you.

This is a full time role.
