Established manufacturer of advanced automated capital equipment with a worldwide installed base.

Significant career opportunity for an ambitious professional with a background in the Internet of Things. Develop the pathway and build a team to integrate digital technology within the international machine base through smart networked embedded systems.

This is a new role with a highly successful and well-regarded company, part of a major international Group with a worldwide presence for its range of specialist high speed inspection systems based upon advanced machine vision technologies.

The Company is a significant employer with a substantial R&D resource and has an award winning record for both its technology and its export performance. It has continued growth prospects for its new products and the service division where a key strategy is the development of smart networked embedded cloud-based systems that provide sample analysis, machine performance information and Big Data for its customers.

Reporting into Director level, the focus of this role is to develop the strategy and then build and lead a multi-disciplined team that will deliver this key digital transformation through the development of new systems and products into the business. Working alongside senior team leader colleagues in software, mechanical, electrical, optical and product design, your activity will have its own distinct remit to produce innovative networked technology solutions that will offer substantial advantages to both the Group and its customers going forward.

The role will appeal to an individual on an upward curve in their career, with real experience in the introduction of advanced digital techniques into specialist high quality manufacturing environments such as precision equipment, measurement systems, security, identification or robotics. You will need to have a high-quality degree in software, computer science, electronics or precision engineering backed up with applied developmental experience. Ideally, you will have on-line and off-line programming expertise and a highly innovative mind-set. As this new role is a key ingredient in the Company’s growth strategy, the resourcing is significant and there will be visibility at the highest levels.

The career development potential for those with the ability to deliver successful outcomes will be obvious. For a multinational the salary is as expected and is supported by a full range of benefits.
