About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Housing Systems Manager to lead the implementation of our new Housing Management System, OPENHousing. In this interesting and varied role, you’ll be responsible for the overall delivery of the system implementation which will include project management of the release phases, in addition to testing and uploading new software releases. You’ll need to develop strong working relationships with ICT for technical assistance and with suppliers to ensure contractual obligations are delivered.

In addition, you’ll manage a small team and assist them to deliver efficient and effective training and support to system users across the organisation.

This position will initially be based in Sidmouth but will move to Exmouth in November 2017 when our new offices become operational.

About you

With a good standard of education, you’ll have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a good knowledge of software upgrading, testing procedures and reporting tools. Project management experience will be essential to the success of this role and you’ll need to be confident managing conflicting priorities and working on your own initiative.

A high level of accuracy and attention to detail are both essential, as is previous line management and budget management experience.

You’ll also need a driving licence and be able to travel as required (reasonable adjustments may be possible according to the Equality Act).

East Devon District Council has decided to relocate away from its current headquarters in Sidmouth. Some staff will relocate to Exmouth in November 2017 and others to Honiton towards the end of 2018.
