We’re looking for a Technical Architect to lead our Development and QA teams and drive the next generation of our award-winning job board product as we make use of exciting and new cloud technologies.

You will be working with your team to bridge the commercial, product and engineering worlds. You will be responsible for translating the needs of the Madgex Product Managers to the development teams and advocating the technical needs of the job board product to the Senior Product Manager to drive the technical product roadmap. You’ll work closely with the Product Manager’s and Senior Product Manager to help them monitor, understand and respond to the performance of the platform to ensure we’re continually driving service improvement. You’ll also be the technical voice of the product to our current and future clients. Comfortable talking to clients, you will be able to interpret their needs and design solutions to deliver their requirements. To be successful, you will be a cross-disciplined technical expert, someone who still likes to be hands-on and have your finger on the pulse whilst leading from the front.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Responsible for providing technical leadership for the development, and deployment of our job board products across our Development and QA teams.

-Responsible for conceptualising and estimating full-stack technical solutions for the new features of the platform

-Responsible for producing technical designs and associated documentation appropriate for an agile process.

-You will work closely with the CTO to ensure that the architectural solutions remain aligned to our technical strategy and are delivering a scalable product.

-You will be working closely with Product Managers to undertake technical requirements gathering.

-Working closely with the Information Security Manager to ensure the products follow and meet our information security policies to meet our Data Protection requirements.

-You will assist the commercial team with technical aspects of client requirements including providing responses to RFPs and supporting new business presentations.

Required Skills:

-Ability to effectively identify and document technical business requirements.

-A track record of technical leadership with experience of patterns-based, standard service approach to platform architecture.

-Ability to manage own time, and manage client expectations as well as those of other project team members.

-Ability to work on multiple, simultaneous project deliveries under high pressure.

-Current, hands-on modern technologies knowledge especially in the Microsoft .Net stacks.

-Excellent knowledge/experience of integration, SOA, Micro Services and Web Services

-Good knowledge/experience of system types such as CMSs, CRMs, ERPs, BI etc.

-Good judgment and a pragmatic approach to delivering software. Experience of building responsive, resilient, scalable and cost-effective cloud solutions

-Experience in transition architecture; taking an iterative approach to migration from legacy to target state.

-Strong working knowledge of security principles, standards and implications

-Ability to drive continuous improvement and refinement of the SDLC through the use of automation, tooling, process improvement etc.

-Good knowledge of relational database technologies (MS SQL Server and/or Postgres)

-Strong communication skills - this role is an interface between the business and technology

Desirable Skills:

-Thought-leadership in emerging mobile and web design technologies

-Infrastructure design and capacity testing experience

-Enterprise integration experience

-Elastic Search & Lucene search concepts - faceting, personalized results

-Oversight of front end development using tools such as Grunt, Bower, SASS, LESS and HTML frameworks such as Vue.

-Recent experience of container-based architecture (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)

-Experience of No SQL technologies in application and platform architectures

-Experience of cloud-first architecture and design

-Experience of developing for AWS

-Mentoring and Coaching of other technical roles.
