About the Foreign & Commonwealth Office

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) promotes the United Kingdom's interests overseas, supporting our citizens and businesses around the globe. The FCO has a worldwide network of embassies and consulates, employing over 14,000 people in nearly 270 diplomatic offices. We work with international organisations to promote UK interests and global security, including the EU, NATO, the United Nations, the UN Security Council and the Commonwealth.

The role of Senior Product Manager

The FCO’s Digital Transformation Unit is a small, multidisciplinary team empowered to transform the FCO’s internal and external services. Join them as Senior Product Manager and we’ll look to you to procure and lead teams in the delivery of new digital services. Assessing and analysing applications for new or changed digital services, you’ll develop full business cases and budgeting to ensure we’re providing the most efficient and cost-effective services possible. Conducting customer and product discovery to understand user needs, you’ll prioritise and drive the transformation of the FCO’s public-facing services to the Government’s Digital by Default standard. You’ll play a key role in taking our digital transformation from inception to delivery, working on internal and external transformation projects, ensuring everything we design is user-centred.

What we are looking for

A web professional with significant experience of delivering high-profile, successful audience-facing websites, you’ll know how to procure skills and software on the open market, and work with suppliers to deliver results. Along with strong product and project management skills, you’ll also need excellent business analysis skills and an understanding of open source and open standards. We’re looking for a decision-maker. A strong leader who can implement change and help us deliver modern digital services, giving our staff the tools they need to operate in an increasingly interconnected world.
