The Scottish Parliament’s Business Information Technology Office is responsible for developing and maintaining the IT solutions and infrastructure which support and enable the business of the Scottish Parliament and its Members.

Working within the Infrastructure function, your role will be to evaluate, plan, design and optimise the IT solutions and underlying infrastructure used by the Parliament. This role provides a great opportunity to develop your professional skills and knowledge and gain experience in some leading-edge technologies including Windows 10 and Office 365. You will have the opportunity to innovate using new and established technologies to help MSPs perform their duties, to support and enhance the democratic process and to engage with the people of Scotland.

With relevant professional experience, you will have knowledge or experience of some or all of:

Core Microsoft technologies including Office 365, Windows Server and Desktop, Microsoft Office, Exchange and Active Directory

Mobile technologies including Enterprise Mobility Platforms and iOS

Remote access technologies including Citrix XenApp and Cisco AnyConnect VPN

Cloud-based solutions, in particular SaaS offerings to meet specific business needs

You will be someone who takes ownership of the planning and delivery of your own work, able to work effectively with a range of technical and non-technical colleagues and stakeholders, providing excellent service to customers. You will have strong problem solving and decision making skills, with experience of researching and recommending technology solutions. Experience of managing supplier relationships as well as skills in business analysis, project planning and change management would be desirable, but training in these areas will be provided to the right candidate if required. .
