About the Team:

Telefonica UK is a leading provider of M2M solutions and services. The market is rapidly evolving into a broader Internet of Things category, creating exciting new business opportunities for Telefonica UK. In the context of these new business opportunities, Telefonica is developing operations in four key IoT markets: Smart Car, Smart Home, Smart Metering and Smart Communities.

Your Role:

Delivering our services in a responsible, compliant and customer-focused way means that we need to ensure our operations are designed, executed and developed to meet our high standards of customer care and in line with regulatory requirements.

As Operations and Compliance Manager you'll work closely with our partners and experts to ensure that systems and processes are aligned with our objectives and senior decision-makers are fully aware of the risks and benefits of business decisions. You'll also be responsible for the operational and delivery of services and the first line of defence for O2 under these regulations in the context of IoT developments in Smart Car (O2 Drive).

Responsibilities:

* Approval and escalation of all business strategy that has the potential to affect regulated customer outcomes

* Operating model design, continual review and update as well as service/process/system improvements

* Monitoring/reporting customer outcomes, NPS and CSI and implementing remedial action where required

* Complaint monitoring, resolution and reporting including RCA and implementing system/process improvements

* The first line of defence including Legal, Risk and Compliance governance, risk identification and mitigation

* Offering a regulatory reference point, guidance, advice and training to all business functions associated with the delivery of insurance intermediation within Telefonica UK

* 2nd line, 3rd line, Legal and FCA relationship management;

Skills & experience:

* An understanding of operational processes needed to run an insurance broker.

* Experience of working with partners in the design and delivery of systems and processes

* Experience of providing risk and compliance oversight of an insurance business in either a 1st or 2nd line capacity

* Solid knowledge of compliance, risk and regulatory frameworks and of FCA regulations and handbook

* Experience of dealing with the FCA - relationship, arrow visits, thematic reviews

* Good knowledge of information security/data protection requirements

* Good knowledge of ASA rules and requirements

* Ability to interpret new and existing regulations and provide operational advice, support and training

* Experience of interpreting data and writing/delivering MI/Reports to Board level

* Ability to influence at a senior level, both within Telefonica UK and external partners and to network effectively
