After graduating with a first class degree, you've proven that you're the best in class. You're looking for the right place to hone your skills, and we're looking for top talent who can take our business to the next level.

There aren't many places where you can combine a career in Maths and Statistics with the clever-fast world of sports betting, but that's exactly what William Hill has to offer. University has given you a great foundation from which to spread your wings. If you're a sports fan and want to combine that with your mathematical abilities, we're sure that you'll find plenty here to keep you interested.

Our Quantitative Trading Analysts are well known in our industry as the brains behind the bet. You'll join a small team in Leeds who develop statistical models for our trading systems. Your models will support our bookmaking function, and enable us to analyse and evaluate customer behaviour and create effective marketing offers.

You'll be involved in the process of testing mathematical models, making sure everything we produce meets the needs of the business and our customers. We'd like you to bring ideas - you'll have the chance to analyse the way we work and use mathematical techniques and modelling to improve our performance and profitability. Colleagues across our business will come to you for expert advice, so you'll need to present your analysis to various audiences in a way they'll understand.

We need you to bring us First Class Honours or any Postgraduate degree in a numerate subject e.g. Maths, Stats, Physics. You'll be a keen sports fan, and you're genuinely interested in bookmaking and betting. We're interested in your approach to work too - you're full of initiative and willingness to learn. Problem solving is fun for you- especially when you're working against the clock to meet a deadline or two.

You'll certainly stand out if your technical expertise includes a statistical programming language (preferably R), or any general purpose programming languages, (preferably Java). Experience using databases (preferably MySQL), building mathematical models in a professional working environment, or sound working knowledge of Excel/VBA would be considered advantageous.

We're open to accepting applications from candidates with predicted first class grades (we'll ask for evidence of this.) Offers will be conditional upon you achieving your first.
