Are you looking for a new challenge as IT Systems Engineer? We might just have the job for you. The College’s IT Services department is looking for a new colleague to contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of all IT services and network resources across our four campuses.

The Job

The IT system engineer is responsible for the implementation, administration and support of all cross college IT services and network resources. Reporting to the IT Systems Development Engineer the post holder will assist with the administration, support and development of the IT infrastructure; including server farm, storage, network, cloud services and communications technologies ensuring the provision and management of a resilient and accessible service.

In addition to the above the post holder take ownership of help desk issues to ensure the efficient operation of the IT Services help desk, promoting and delivering a timely and quality customer service.

The person

The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of administrating, developing and providing support with complex multi-domain Windows environment and network services. Strong interpersonal skills are key as the role involves communication with staff, learners and external agencies.

In addition to the above you will:

Have a sound understanding of LAN, WLAN & WAN principles

Have demonstrable experience of application packaging, deployment and monitoring using MDT, SCCM, SCOM and VMM tools.

Be familiar with help desk services and call escalation management

Have AQL database administration and management experience

An understanding and the ability to contribute to system design and implementation
