Location: Bristol or London. Travel between the two locations will be required.Bristol or London.

We are looking for a Technical Architect to join our Civil Service HR Digital and Analysis team. We need someone with a genuine passion for exploring new concepts and ways of working, with the ability to understand complex models and programmes. You will be someone who can grasp the detail and translate complex thinking into messages for a diverse audience. You will have forward thinking views and great ideas to challenge the status quo and overcome obstacles.

As such we work across departmental and organisational borders and with a range of third party suppliers, so you need to be someone who can bring people together and create the conditions for positive collaboration. Most of all you will need to resilient as the Civil Service HR portfolio is complex and diverse and this requires someone confident managing challenging situations.

To succeed you will have proven experience of driving technology changes, preferably within a HR or public sector organisation. You will have in-depth understanding of application design and have a good knowledge of the latest technology trends. You will have developed architectures and strategies in a multi-supplier environment, as well as the ability to translate technical concepts in to business terms. You will have strong experience of developing and implementing technology/technical architecture roadmaps, backlogs and measurable success criteria. You will have a background in active software development and engaged in architecting and building high-volume digital services, as well as experience in Agile methodologies such as TDD, SCRUM and Kanban.
