Head of Operational Digital Strategy - City of London - Financial Services - Permanent - Competitive Salary plus bonus and benefits.

The Company

An experienced Head of Operational Strategy is required by a Financial Services Company, based in the City of London.

The Role

The Head of Operational Strategy is responsible for a wide portfolio as part of the Chief Operating Officer's Leadership Team. They will develop and deliver both the overall operational strategy including operational performance; technical solutions and a digital transformation programme that embeds digital thinking and delivery and support across functions and provides the culture, capacity and capabilities needed to make this happen.

Responsibilities

This is a key role in support of the Chief Operating Officer and their leadership team which requires versatility, collaboration, proactivity and excellent inter-personal skills. You will:

*Develop, implement and coordinate operational strategy to ensure optimum alignment between people, process and technology change across our Operations Division including digital, customer and sourcing strategies

*Designing and implementing business models and business planning to support operational strategy

*Lead on identifying opportunities for business change and service transformation and work closely with colleagues across and with partners to project and programme manage change from a cross-cutting and corporate perspective

*Develop, implement and coordinate operational enhancements aimed toward ensuring that the company delivers high-impact services to customers

*Develop, lead and execute the digital transformation strategy and programme to deliver our wider organisational strategy, through building powerful strategic alliances across the Scheme that ensure the commitment to digital engagement is owned by all

*Develop the culture, capacity and capability of the organisation to truly embrace digital opportunities so that digital thinking and delivery becomes fully embedded

*Influence the outcomes of these deliverables to ensure they are successful

*Define key business challenges and needs in the digital space and provide the solutions to meeting these challenges

*Work with all relevant teams to deliver significant improvements in our digital marketing

*Challenge and addresses 'silo attitudes' to encourage effective relationship building inside and outside the company

*Ensure the organisation balances effective risk management with the need for timely actions in the delivery of operational strategy

Experience Required

*Educated to degree level or equivalent experience

*Excellent understanding of the UK regulatory regime

*Ability to identify strategic operational business needs; lead all aspects of planning with sound business recommendations, and generate alignment with key business partners

*Strong project management and leadership skills; the ability to organise and drive complex projects with diverse stakeholders to timely completion

*Understanding of the current digital landscape and its implications for driving customer experience

*Demonstrate strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

*Excellent presentation skills that encompass clear, compelling communications

*Gravitas and excellent people skills

*The ability to manage a diverse workload, balancing priorities and liaising with colleagues to meet deadlines

*An established track-record in orchestrating activity, design, planning and thinking across multiple work-streams and teams

*Experience of managing operational delivery teams

*A track record in significant transformation programme delivery which is built on strong senior internal relationships and inspiring change beyond directly managed teams

*Evidence of professional achievement in digital systems transformation.

*Up to date understanding of the emerging trends in both the operational and digital workspaces

*Extensive experience of working with creative and technical development of existing and emerging digital solutions and technology to tackle key customer challenges.

*Experience of setting, managing and reporting against large, multi-year budgets, KPIs, milestones etc.
