We’re looking for creative solutions to interesting problems.

You don’t settle for ordinary. In fact, you actively seek out the most innovative, effective and creative solutions to interesting problems; that’s exactly what we’ll encourage here at HMGCC. Our multi-disciplinary teams design secure communications systems for HM Government in the UK and overseas. You’ll have the chance to work on a range of complex, absorbing projects. All while helping to safeguard the country and its interests.

The role

As our Senior Software Developer, you’ll work on our complex projects: developing imaginative solutions and solving never-seen-before problems. You’ll provide key input into customer relationships, offer inspirational leadership and oversee the technical direction and development strategy, working on projects from requirements right through to delivery. With second-to-none expertise, you’ll be crucial to the success of our projects; and with the freedom to decide the best way to complete the work, you’ll be able to creatively deploy a variety of languages, platforms and technologies as you see fit. Flexible and dedicated, you’ll also have the chance to mentor and share your knowledge with junior developers.

Your profile

You’ll have previous experience of leading the development of software systems.

You’ll have practical knowledge of software engineering, including requirements capture, system analysis and design for test.

You’ll have experience in application and kernel development for one or more of: Windows, Linux, macOS, Android or iOS.

You’ll be proficient in one or more of: C, C++, C#, Java or Objective-C.

While not essential, knowledge of networking and communications, along with experience in email protocols would be a huge advantage. And, degree-educated, your knowledge of data integrity and information assurance would make you stand out from other developers.

Rewards

In return, we’ll provide all the training you need to develop your skills. And you’ll get a great rewards package that includes flexible hours and a welcoming workplace.
