Bespoke Business Software are recruiting for a lead PHP developer to help move our business from start up to scale up. We have achieved product market fit and are growing rapidly.

At the outset you will be working with our existing web application architecture to help deliver solutions to our clients. Over the coming months, we will be working to redefine and re-engineer this platform, from the ground up, incorporating all the lessons learnt to date.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented developer to lead the definition and development of a product that is fundamentally changing the way SMEs use web applications.

You will be instrumental to our success and this will be recognised in the form of a competitive salary, bonus and eventual stock options.

This role requires close collaboration with the founder and growing development team. On site meetings will be an essential part of our processes but remote and flexible working are both possible.

Who are we and what do we do?

Bespoke Business Software build web applications for SMEs. We deliver these systems using our in house framework that can be configured to manage a wide variety of client requirements. The applications we build vary from KPI tools to fully integrated supply chain solutions that manage every aspect of our client's business. We work with companies across a huge breadth of industries, this includes marketing, events, recruitment, manufacturing and hardware installation.

What will you do?

- Undertake the continuing development of our web application platform

- Support existing clients

- Configure the application platform for new clients

- Lead the re-design and re-engineering of the platform moving forward

- Advise on technical infrastructure, security and resilience issues

What do we expect?

- You must be thorough, methodical and have good attention to detail

- An expert problem solver

- You must have expert knowledge of PHP, Javascript and mySQL

- Familiar with web application architecture, Linux and Apache

- An interest in the application of software in transforming business processes

- Enthusiasm and passion for developing something new

- You should be inquisitive, imaginative, interested in new ideas

- The ability to work on own initiative, without micro-management

The day to day

- this is a collaborative role so you can expect to spend up to two days a week working with the team in a shared office space

- the rest of the time you can work remotely and we are flexible about times

- we will provide the equipment you need to do the job
