It’s your chance to take on an important role where you will help bring criminals to justice through your unique technical skills and knowledge. We will provide you with a range of training in the necessary disciplines to enable you to work in this exciting, fast-moving and challenging field.

You will be working for the UK’s largest police service in digital forensics, in one of the biggest and best-equipped digital forensics labs in the country. You will also be working closely with some of the most experienced digital forensic specialists in the industry.

To join us, you will need knowledge of current and emerging technologies, plus enthusiasm for this field. It’s important that you have a genuine interest in digital forensics and the technology behind audio, video, computers and mobile devices. We’re also looking for an aptitude for processing and presenting digital information. Strong verbal and written communication skills will be essential. While a relevant degree or equivalent experience is required, it is attention to detail and teamwork skills that will help you succeed in the role.

Working in our central laboratory or on attachment at one of our Digital Hubs, you will be responsible for the examination of digital devices. You will extract and report data for police investigations, presenting your findings clearly to officers. Please note that you will be expected to be on call and work outside normal hours if necessary.

Completed applications must be returned by 7th April 2017.

In the event we receive a high number of applications, we reserve the right to close this campaign early.

We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today’s complex policing challenges, we need a workforce made up from all of London’s communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.
