We’re improving security for the UK’s nuclear industry.

You can be the key to our transformation programme.

The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. Our vision is to be recognised as a provider of a world-class service for the protection of nuclear material and facilities. Given the critical nature of our work, it’s vital that we recruit skilled and committed professionals to our high-performing team. As Programme Manager, you’ll play a key role in safeguarding crucial UK infrastructure.

Today’s terrorist threat is more acute than ever. We’re therefore improving our armed counter-terrorism capability through a set of high impact projects. These initiatives range from new mobile communications to command and control systems, a state of the art firearms training facility to the introduction of a new fleet of Ballistically Protected Vehicles. As Programme Manager, you’ll make sure they’re delivered on time and as planned.

You’ll manage the programme day-to-day leading multiple project teams to take each project forward. That means aligning the programme with other projects as well as relevant strategies. You’ll also need to flag up interdependencies and any resulting risks or issues and escalate. You’ll give high-level advice and be in charge of developing programme governance. Once each project’s completed, you’ll make sure new capabilities are introduced with minimum disruption.

This vital role is for an accredited Programme Manager. An MSP Practitioner (or similar), you’re used to leading major change programmes in a regulated environment. You’re also a member of a relevant professional body (e.g. APM). Thanks to this background, you’ll have expert knowledge of programme/project methodologies plus a Prince 2 qualification (or similar). Your expertise comes with impressive communication skills. A natural leader, you can manage teams, give strong presentations and influence at Board level.

Please note that you will be required to visit various sites. A full driving licence is essential.

This role is subject to security clearance.
