Background:

HMRC is undertaking an ambitious change programme, underpinned by changes to how we acquire, manage and use data to support the UK tax system. The Data Architecture team is at the heart of HMRC’s transformation, providing the direction and design to ensure that HMRC leverages its data asset.

You will need to have a strong background in data architecture, management or analysis with good stakeholder management skills and an ability to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences. You will need to have experience in creating data models, of helping organisations embed best practice in data management, have a good knowledge of tools and processes to manage data effectively, and to understand how data underpins successful business operations.

Key responsibilities:

- Develop and deliver enterprise data strategy, architecture and standards

- Provide data expertise to change projects across HMRC

- Develop and apply corporate data architecture and data models and supporting documentation

- Manage stakeholders who are impacted by the data architecture

- Working with other public and private sector organisations to agree common data standards.

Essential:

- Data modelling

- Data management process design and implementation

- Engagement of a range of technical and business stakeholders at all levels

Desirable:

- Relevant qualification e.g. Degree level, TOGAF

Experience of:

- Developing enterprise data architecture and models

- Enterprise architecture principles, policies, standards and governance

- Management of customer data

- Business intelligence and/or data warehousing

- Data Governance & Metadata tools

- Data integration, transformation and standardisation
