Keep us secure, so we can keep London safe.

We’re determined to offer the best police service possible for Londoners. It’s why we’re making an exciting commitment to transform. As part of this, we’re introducing Total Technology, which will allow us to provide more effective Digital Policing. That way, we can ensure our police officers and staff have the technology they need to solve crimes, catch criminals and help victims.

As a Service Technician, your main purpose is to maintain the integrity and availability of IL5 and above secure services. This will be in accordance with agreed (or assumed) Service Level Agreements. Performing daily system checks of services, immediately reporting, monitoring and acting when anomalies are found and by assisting the Secure Delivery Team with the transition of our new infrastructure, you’ll ensure that everything is fit for purpose when delivered.

You’ll need great communication skills, as you’ll be responsible for consistent and professional relationships within the Secure Service Delivery Department. You’ll also work alongside 2nd/3rd Line Support teams, and deal with system enquiries from people of all ranks. Having recently worked in a similar role within a secure (IL5) environment, you’ll have experience and qualifications in Windows Server and desktop-based services. This includes legacy MS Products such as Server 2003 and XP Pro onwards. Plus, you’ll have first level knowledge and understanding of virtualised systems (VMWare) and thin client technology.

This is an outstanding opportunity to support a totally unique organisation, and contribute to making London a more enjoyable place to live and work. In fact, you’ll help provide support to critical national and Met Police IT services, which includes investigations and operational intelligence.

To apply, please click the APPLY button to visit our website and download a role-specific information pack and application form.

Completed applications must be returned by Friday 2nd December 2016.

Please note we are only able to review the first 50 applications received.

We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today’s complex policing challenges, we need a workforce made up from all of London’s communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.
