As an Information Analyst at HS2, working in our Phase 2a team, you will be focal point for data analysis across the team. This will span a number of technical and business disciplines looking to understand the issues that can be informed by better information. A key focus will be on how to visualise and present the outcomes of any analysis so that the right management information is provided at the right time to different audiences.

About the role:

- Collecting, consolidating and verifying data generated by, and relating to the performance of, Phase 2a’s work streams and identify any quality issues with data being produced

- Management of data so that it is in the necessary format and structure to support analysis

- Undertaking ‘business focused’ analysis of data

- Supporting scenario testing; by manipulating variables within datasets to show the impact of choosing different options, or the project being affected by different impacts (e.g. changes to policy, timescales, requirements)

- Development and regular production of dashboards to show management information in concise and meaningful ways

- Identifying and developing ways to visualise management information, to ensure a variety of information sets are consumed by different audiences in the most appropriate way (e.g. tailor outputs or Project Board level versus working group level forums)

- Assisting in the implementation of good data management practices across the Phase 2a team.

About You:

- Experience in managing and processing large or complex datasets

- An understanding of project management principles and environments

- An understanding of software packages and systems that can be used to create Management Information

- Adaptable team player - We are a small team and the available data and requirements for analysis will always evolve, so the role holder will need to be willing to adapt

- Excellent communication skills are important as the job holder will need to liaise with personnel at various levels within the organisation and its key partners, to gather and query the business information provided

- Excellent attention to detail
