Experienced developer with the following experience, opportunity to learn and develop - 12 month contract Microsoft Visual Studio (C#.NET), SQL Server (2005 or later) and Web development using HTML, XML and JavaScript.

Working as an IT Developer on one of our customer sites you'll:

Assist in the development and maintenance of all IT systems required for other departmental staff and specific projects within agreed SLAs.

Develop, support and maintain technical aspects of systems according to relevant standards, methods and tools in order to meet business requirements in terms of functional and technical performance of systems, development and service levels.

- Assist in the development of software and web systems including investigation, analysis and re-creation of bugs, proposing fixes and improvements, implementing updates and undertaking small projects. Develop supporting software to enhance departmental productivity and enable demonstrations of efficiency.

- Assist with software engineering tasks such as creating user acceptance testing documents, documenting software requirements and conducting and recording functional software testing.

- Assist with support database creation and administration tasks including the configuration and creation of new databases and continual maintenance and performance tuning

- Assisting project support teams through troubleshooting system issues during development and throughout the product life cycle. This includes participating and chairing review meetings for bug fixing and user acceptance testing

- Provide users with adequate support in case of problems and requests for information in order to enhance the system effectiveness and supporting technical requirements. Provide designated site(s) with local support in line with operating hours.

- Support IT Systems goals and activities to ensure that the availability to the departmental staff and customer is kept to a maximum. This includes first tier support for all systems created and maintained by the team and diagnosis, reporting and fixing of queries or bugs.

- Liaise with customers directly to scope out requirements and quote for projects. Build key relationships to retain customers or sell more into other areas. Present and demonstrate other services available. Initiate key meetings with the customer to review project progress and milestones.

- Plan, monitor and control the set-up and development activities to be done and report/take action to the responsible managers in order to reach agreed time schedules.

Proven experience in software development involving the following technologies:

- Microsoft Visual Studio (C#.NET)

- Microsoft SQL Server (2005 or later)

- Web development using HTML, XML and JavaScript

Desirable

- Demonstrable knowledge of OOP techniques and methodologies (design patterns, agile development etc.)

- Experience of developing software for Mobile devices

- Experience working with the following technologies/methodologies: MVC, JQuery, SharePoint
