Submarine Sonar Instructor (Royal Navy Submarine School)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the UK's leading military training company as a Training Delivery Instructor. You will be working at the Royal Navy Submarine School (RNSMS), within the Sonar Department as part of a 15 strong team of instructors covering a wide range of specialisms. As Submarine Sonar Instructor you will be responsible for delivering training to every Able Seaman coming into the Submarine Sonar School.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver instruction in Submarine Sonar operations in accordance with the relevant ISPECs to meet the needs of the training programme and contracted for in FOAP(T)
* Deliver instruction of Tactical Weapon embarkation/disembarkation - (TWED) training and Submarine Seamanship
* Provide training support in other simulators as required
* Undertake direct support tasks including preparatory work for training delivery activity, post delivery assessments and post delivery activities
* Provide SME input into the Training design activities including ISPEC/ASPEC and low level media production
* Provide Training Support in the form of SME to TD and QA staff
* Undertake wider contract delivery and support tasks as deemed appropriate by TDTM (RNSMS)
* Maintain currency and SQEP in line with technical experience
Skills & Experience Required
* Experience as a Warfare specialist Sonar (SM) or Warfare (SM) Senior Rating specialisation - Essential
* ECDL or equivalent demonstrable proficiency in using IT (hardware/software) within the workplace - Essential
* Experience in tactical Weapon embarkation/disembarkation and Submarine Seamanship - Essential
* Manual Handling course - Desirable
* MCA approved Efficient Deckhand Qualification - Desirable
* DCTS Defence Train The Trainer Course (successful completion) or equivalent (full training can be given if not held) - Essential
* ILM Level 3 Award (Workplace Coaching for Team Leaders and First Line Management - Desirable

The successful candidate will need to undergo Ministry of Defence security clearance before starting in the post.
