Our client operates a unique railway within the leisure and tourism sector in Wales and provides customers with an experience that is unrivalled within the UK. They are now seeking a Railway Engineer to join their team and be inspired to take on the challenges that this uniqueness generates.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with a passion for all things railway to fulfil their dreams with a distinctive company operating in a stunning location. The railway operates historic and modern rolling stock and the successful candidate will take existing knowledge and expand on their grounding to include the whole range of railway engineering.

As a Railway Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and supervising our client’s team of experienced trades people who maintain their fleet within the locomotive workshop.

Playing a key role within the Engineering Department, you’ll oversee a wide range of maintenance activities and ensure that work is completed on time and to a high quality. This will take the form of steam and diesel locomotives and various rolling stock.

Working on these fascinating machines, as well as various buildings and structures throughout our client’s extremely challenging five miles of permanent way, you’ll have the chance to come face-to-face with some superb examples of locomotive history.

As part of your role, you will be required to work on a management rota to cover some weekend duties during the passenger carrying season.

To be considered, you must have, at a minimum, an HNC or degree in an engineering discipline. Equally important are your good time management, planning and scheduling skills.
