Midweight Front End Developer for Ecommerce Digital Agency

We are a creative e-commerce agency. We partner with leading brands and retailers to engage with their customers through user experience design, creative design and content creation. We’re fortunate enough to work with some fantastic fashion and retail brands and most of our new business comes from recommendation.

We are on the lookout for a Front End Developer to work on high quality, responsive websites. The candidate must have an understanding of NodeJS, as it’s used for our development environment, and the ability to navigate WordPress sites is essential. Experience with or knowledge of A/B testing and some of the tools (Monetate, Qubit, Optimizely) is preferred.

Working within a fantastic team of developers and content managers, you will work across multiple development projects and work streams. You’ll use your creative problem solving skills to anticipate challenges, implement design and fix bugs that crop up.

Essential skills and experience:

- At least 2 years experience as a Front End Developer (digital agency experience desirable)

- Able to work at pace with competing deadlines and adjust to differing client expectations

- Strong problem solving skills that anticipate challenges and plan for them

- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, vanilla JS and JQuery.

- Understand REST APIs and AJAX.

- NodeJS basics

- Proficient understanding of GIT version control

- Thirst to keep current with Front End Technologies (eg. ECMA6, WebP images)

- Experience of CSS-Preprocessor (SASS)

- Experience with GULP task runners

- Translation of UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application.

- Knowledge of Cross Browser, cross-platform and cross-device responsive development.

- Experience integrating with server-side code to produce dynamic pages

Desirable skills and experience:

- Client-facing experience across multiple accounts

- Creating bespoke CMS (Wordpress) themes and experience of managing CMS content on - Tier one platforms (Demandware is desirable)

- A/B Testing experience using Monetate / Qubit / Optimizely

- Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that applications will adhere to them.
