About the role

Your duties will include:
Assisting in first line fault diagnosis for the accelerator (including electrical as well as mechanical issues) under high time pressure with the highest regard for personnel and equipment safety
Assisting in repairing/replacing failed equipment like power supplies, magnets, etc.
Monitoring and documenting real time data
Using overhead cranes for light lifting duties
Performing searches of controlled areas prior to accelerator operations to guarantee personnel safety
Handing over the status of the particle accelerator, ongoing work, repairs or other issues to oncoming shift
Additionally there is the possibility of working with other groups/specialists during day shifts (e.g. for vacuum, interlock systems, Radio Frequency, power supplies, controls, etc.)
About You
You will be educated to an ONC level in an electrical/electronic engineering discipline, or equivalent experience acquired in the operations of a large scale facility. You will need to have experience in logical fault finding as well as a working knowledge of safety hazards of a large scale facility.
The successful candidate will have very good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly written and verbally, and concisely and confident with individuals from all levels. You will be a team player and a quick learner.
