Lead the fight against crime through technology

When it comes to crime-fighting technology, the Met's at the cutting-edge. Our Technology, Research & Innovation (TRI) team is tasked with delivering new and emerging technology solutions by exploring the latest developments and adapting them, developing bespoke solutions from scratch or working with academia to research knowledge gaps.. It's a hugely exciting area that's evolving rapidly. As Head of IT Systems Development, you'll be in the driving seat, leading the Met's progress.

In this unique role, you'll have the potential to make a direct impact on our work. The high-tech solutions that you deliver can make a world of difference as we strive to police and protect London.

Whatever the project, you'll be expected to manage stakeholders, partner and suppliers, while handling budgets and creating business cases. Security is a priority and you'll make sure we follow procedures.

You'll be an experienced manager with proven hands-on IT development experience who can lead IT development teams. You've managed IT programmes before, including major projects, and developed contracts and SLAs. You've also managed resources and conducted design reviews, while developing solutions in a range of areas. Your knowledge should cover at least some of the following and come with an all-round technical background.
