Better information management starts with you

Staffordshire Police are building a brand new information system to help our force perform at its best. The support and investment are already in place and now we need a Chief Information Officer to take our exciting agenda forward. It's an exceptional opportunity to join an organisation with ambition and clear direction. With your expertise, we can make big improvements that will change our force for the better.

To serve our county's million-strong population, it's vital that we can store data safely and extract it easily. Your challenge is to develop the strategy and architecture for a new information system. As a member of the senior management team, you'll have significant influence so it's important that you understand the needs of Staffordshire Police and make them your central focus.

Data security is a key concern and you'll need to put high-level measures in place. That means working closely with our IT partner and overseeing system designs. As our official Data Protection Officer, you'll also ensure compliance with regulations including GDPR. With your leadership, we'll establish high security standards across the entire force.

MBA-qualified (or with a Business-related qualification), you'll be a CIO or senior manager with SIRO and DPO training. Able to manage IT policies and develop information architecture, you'll bring in-depth knowledge of IT systems. Crucially, you can implement strategic planning and deliver a regulations framework, building robust systems in line with government requirements. While technical knowledge is essential, your success depends on a collaborative approach. You'll be working with a small consultancy team as well as a range of partners, combining your expertise to create effective, modern systems.
