The Royal Air Force Museum is a National Museum that tells the story of the RAF through its people and collections. It has three sites (London, Cosford and Stafford) and a trading company which supplements its funding which comes principally from the Ministry of Defence.

We are looking for a full-time hands-on Technician who will share responsibility for the day-to-day running, operation and installation of Audio Visual and IT equipment, providing 1st and 2nd line technical support.

This post will suit a proactive and qualified individual, who is experienced in working in IT and providing support of Microsoft Windows Desktop, Server OS, LAN / WAN and Microsoft Office. You will demonstrate the ability to set high standards and support changes in working practices that result in improved productivity and effectiveness. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to set, and achieve, high standards of work and behaviour.

You will also assist in the support of commercial simulators and children’s digital interactive areas.

This is an exciting and diverse role where no two days are the same.

The post is based at the Cosford site but work at all Museum sites (London, Cosford and Stafford) and at other venues in the UK maybe required along with occasional weekend, early morning and evening working to support operations and events.
