Is data and AI the key to saving the UK's biodiversity? Thanks to funding from Ofwat, we’ve been working with Anglian Water Services to try and do just that. By leveraging Microsoft's digital twin and AI technology, we've created a virtual replica of river catchments, that allow Anglian Water to unlock greater insight than ever before on the elements that impact the health of our rivers and what they can do to improve it.       Only 14% of UK rivers are considered in good ecological health and this is resulting in a biodiversity crisis across our country. By providing a solution to previously siloed environmental data, creating an integrated, future-proof solution in Azure that allows Anglian to drive new solutions to improving river health, we're doing what matters for the UK's ecosystems. We are proud to be part of a consortium led by Habitat Learn to expedite the adoption of trustworthy and responsible AI. The Deep Myna Project is being funded by an Innovate UK grant and is proposed as a world-first trustworthy automatic speech understanding (TASU) model evaluation and customisation platform with automated reporting and fine-tuning.   Combining ASR and LLM to maximise the understanding of speech content, this regulatory platform will reinforce user-engagement, transparency, and privacy through bias-detection and user-feedback.  DeepMyna will also identify and address bottlenecks, including the lack of transparency in the diversity and representation of training data; explainability in ASR models; user input for fine-tuning; and privacy protection. We cannot thrive in the AI era without being responsible. #AvanadeDoWhatMatters #ResponsibleAI

In celebration of Eid and Ramadan, we spoke to Cloud Software Engineer, Nimra F., about the significance Ramadan holds for her as a Muslim and learnt that not only is it an opportunity for introspection and prayer, but also "a time for nurturing closer bonds within our families and community, while also demonstrating compassion through acts of charity towards those less fortunate.   Avanade's support during Ramadan, with flexible working hours, has been invaluable.
