A day in the life of Susan An

Tessian stories spotlights a day in the life of Tessian employees from around the company to hear about them, their team, and what they're working on.

What’s your Tessian story?

I’m Susan An - I’m the VP of Commercial Sales in North America based out of Boston, MA in the United States. I’ve been at Tessian for almost 7 months and in that time I've built the North America commercial team and global SDR organization from the ground up and am currently working on our 2022 growth planning process while closing out the end of year.

A day in your shoes?

A typical day for me starts super early - I get myself ready for the day and wake my almost 6 year old daughter to get her ready for school. I check my email and schedule first thing in the morning and last thing at night so as to prepare to hit the ground running. The top thing on my list of goals is to build a winning team and although there are many challenges, it's the most rewarding and fun thing I've ever done in my career.

Most unexpected thing about working at Tessian?

Customers. I've always worked at companies that value their customers, but I was still surprised by how mutually passionate and committed Tessian customers are to our relationship and path forward. I feel lucky to be a part of that community.

Why should people join Tessian?

In leading a sales org, I need to have conviction around what we're selling and why we're selling it.  Tessian's 98% customer retention rate, our world class investors and high performing team, along with the everyday customer impact stories we hear, give me that conviction. I've worked at companies ranging from 32 to 31,000 employees, but opportunities like Tessian are rare and the best part of it is that I get to do it with this team.
