The bank built for you.

About us

Hello, we’re Starling. Banking was broken – so we decided to fix it. The vision? Fast technology, fair service and honest values. All at the tap of a phone, all the time. We built Britain’s first digital bank. One hard-won banking licence later, we set about giving people a new way to spend, save and manage their money (and take better care of the planet, too). We’re changing banking for good. Back then, we were obsessed with unravelling the knotty world of finance and solving people’s problems rather than selling them stuff. We still are. Since then, we’ve grown. A lot. Over three million accounts (and four account types!). A team of thousands. Headquartered in London with offices in Cardiff, Dublin, Manchester and Southampton. Five years voted Which? Recommended Provider and Britain's Best Banking Brand. Still zero branches. Our culture is open, inclusive and focused on solving real customer problems, with an emphasis on doing the right thing, even when it’s not always the easy thing. From our approach to working together and sustainability to how we build our products, our decisions need to make the world – and Starling – a better place to be. Everyone at Starling is essential to our mission, which is really quite simple: to solve our customer’s problems – and build the best bank in the world! And now we're providing Starling to other banks, via a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) proposition through our subsidiary Engine, using the proprietary technology platform that it uses to power our own bank.

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week ☀️ This year, the theme is ‘Movement: Moving more for our mental health’. Regular physical activity is known to improve mental health and wellbeing – not only does it release ‘feel good’ hormones, but it can improve our sleep too. We’re supporting the @NationalTrust to help protect and restore peatland across restoration projects in Britain and Northern Ireland. Why not take a walk at one of their sites this week? We guarantee you’ll enjoy it! To read more about our partnership with the National Trust, click the link below. http://spkl.io/604144R2f #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek

Huh, indeed 🤷 As part of #TakeFive week, we’re talking investment scams. These can happen when scammers gain access to hacked profiles, sometimes even profiles of your friends, to try and hook you into ‘lucrative investment opportunities’. Stop and #TakeFive! If someone reaches out to you on social media to offer an investment opportunity - it's very likely a scam, and you could lose your money. Anyone offering financial advice should be FCA regulated. Always check if an investment could be a scam before sending money using the FCA's ScamSmart tool, linked below 🔗 http://spkl.io/604244Dcq

    • A scam message via direct message is displayed, the message reads: 'hey, I know it's been a long time but I wanted to get in touch with you because I've come across a great investment opportunity where you could make 10X your money following my advice. Reply with a 👍 if you're in!' The responses replies 'huh?'.

Don’t let fraudsters take down the house 🙅 Having the same PINs and passwords for multiple accounts and devices can make them much easier to break into. Making a passphrase of 3 random words joined together, starting with a capital and adding in a number and symbol, make these are much harder to crack, but easier to remember. Just remember to have a different one for each account and device! For more tips from our security team on being more security aware, check out the link below 🔗 http://spkl.io/60414NMSR
