The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is the UK's world-leading body established to make sure competition works in people's favour and businesses treat their customers fairly. To ensure our IT services and business systems are fit for purpose, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to play a key role implementing a portfolio of IT enabled change projects.
You will work proactively with product owners, and business analysts to implement business change requirements, using a variety of traditional (waterfall) and agile methods, dependent on the complexity of requirements. This may encompass a mix of estates, infrastructure and applications based projects.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Defining and maintaining project plans and, where needed, integrating these within broader programme plans
Managing and maintaining project governance and reporting regimes and continuously applying project management disciplines
Maintaining Risk, Assumption, Issue and Dependency logs and implementing associated risk mitigations and contingency plans
Candidates do not require a background in the IT sector. A proven ability to successfully manage and deliver multiple projects, using both waterfall and agile project management methodologies is essential. PRINCE2, APM, MSP or other recognised project management qualifications, ie: Scrum Master or Agile Project Management are also essential.
The role also requires strong interpersonal skills, liaising with multiple internal and external stakeholders, ICT colleagues and third-party suppliers, with the ability to manage the output of others to strict deadlines.
