About You

You will be a self-starter with the ability to effectively influence others to fulfil a range of strategic aims by leading, inspiring and developing effective contacts networks. Able to use your own initiative to drive developments forward, you will be comfortable working within a team but will also have the ability to take ownership of projects with limited supervision.

The ideal candidate will be pro-active and forward-thinking in addition to taking a creative, problem-solving approach to the improvement and development of procedures. Excellent customer care skills and a ‘can do' attitude are essential for this position.

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to enable the University to further its widening participation objectives, through targeted work with Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) groups, as well as with a wide range of communities and families.

You will devise, develop, implement and evaluate a range of targeted programmes and events for prospective students and their families. These are designed to raise awareness of higher education and of Edge Hill University amongst BAME communities.

Relationship building with teachers, advisers, community and religious groups will be a core component of the role. The postholder will also have a responsibility for drawing on expertise from within the University and working closely with colleagues from Student Services and Careers, ensuring that networks and working groups are in place to support our whole lifecycle approach to meeting key widening participation objectives.
